  1. ATTACK BONN AIRFIELD
  2.  
  3. As the Allies advanced across Europe,
  4. they captured many installations
  5. previously occupied by the Germans. 
  6. Airfields were of particular strategic
  7. importance to both the Allies and the
  8. Germans.  A variety of fighter missions
  9. could be launched against the Luftwaffe
  10. from Allied-held airfields in France,
  11. Belgium, and eventually Holland.
  12. Because of this, on numerous occasions
  13. the Luftwaffe attempted to disrupt the
  14. Allied installations established since
  15. D-Day.

  17. Had the Gotha 229 seen active service
  18. before the end of the war, Allied air
  19. tacticians would have had a formidable
  20. new opponent. The Go 229's performance
  21. specifications outclassed every other
  22. aircraft operating in 1945.  Able to
  23. carry a variety of ordnance types and
  24. fulfill a number of different roles,
  25. the Gotha certainly would have been the
  26. superplane of its day.

  28.                     YOUR MISSION
  29.  
  30. Flying a Go 229, follow your flight
  31. leader on a dive bombing and strafing
  32. attack on Bonn airfield.  Destroy as
  33. many of the parked aircraft and hangar
  34. buildings as possible.  Your Gothas are
  35. armed with four 30-mm MK 103 cannons
  36. and two 2,205-lb. bombs each. Watch for
  37. enemy fighter cover above the field.
